MALDEN, Mass―An Ethiopian restaurant recently opened its doors in Malden: Mogogo Ethiopian Cuisine (1 Highland Ave.) specializes in injera, a spongy flatbread made from teff flour that bears a resemblance to dosa and is served with a range of accompaniments, including vegetables, meats, spreads, and more.
Mogogo’s main dishes are served over injera, with two sides, plus a house salad. Options include chicken stew, prime beef, sirloin tips, and boiled lamb, while sides range from lentils to split peas, collard greens, string beans, and a traditional cottage cheese.
Mogogo also has a fully vegan menu and a range of gluten-free options available to diners. Early Yelp reviews are largely positive, with visitors noting the volume of food that comes with each order, the friendly service, and the depth of flavor in the dishes.
