Jinja, Uganda – Rehima Zerga scored a hat-trick to help Ethiopia defeat Uganda 4-1 here today to clinch third place in the inaugural CECAFA Women Championship.
Meanwhile, Tanzania was declared champions after beating Kenya 2-1 in the final match played afterwards.
Uganda started well with Hasifa Nassuna scoring just 5 minutes into the game. However, the lead was short-lived as veteran striker Rehima Zerga responded with two goals (16′ & 45′) of her own.
Rehima completed her hat-trick in the 73rd minute and Ethiopia’s top striker Loza Abera struck five minutes later to make it 4-1.
