East Africa Dominates World Cross Championships In China
Kenyan athletes dominated the World Cross-Country Championships in China on Saturday, with Geoffrey Kamworor taking his first title in the men’s race ahead of fellow countryman Bedan Karoki Muchiri.
Ethiopia’s Muktar Edris came third followed by one Kenyan and three other Ethiopians.
East African countries like Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Uganda and Tanzania dominated overall both the senior men’s and women’s cross country races.
Eritrean pre-race favorite and six-time World Cross medal holder Teklemariam Medhin finished 17th place behind Eritrea’s 2012 cross-country champion and world junior 5000m silver medalist Abrar Osman who finished 13th place.,
