ETHIOPIAN Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn is expected in Zambia tomorrow on a three-day state visit, Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba has said.

Mr Kalaba told a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday that Mr Desalegn will be accompanied by five cabinet ministers and business partners, and is coming to strengthen bilateral relations between Zambia and Ethiopia.

“During his state visit, there will also be a Joint Permanent Commission of corporation (JPC) meeting in which we expect to discuss various issues of mutual interest between our two countries,” he said.

Mr Kalaba said one of the many issues to be discussed during the JPC is trade between Zambia and Ethiopia as the trade volumes between the two countries have been insignificant.
