Eritrean strong man and president Isaias Afewerki has not appeared in public since September 2. According to reports, Isaias travelled to Uganda for medical treatment,

prompting debate about his successor.

Isaias, 70 who has been elected as president soon after the East African nation gained its independence from the neighbouring Ethiopia in 1993, was seen looking weak before his mysterious disappearance according to reports.

The uncertainty surrounding Isaias Afewerki’s health condition has fuelled speculations that his health may be further deteriorating where the fate of the president and the country is

unknown.
