Ethiopia Sells Electricity To Tanzania


The Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP), the state owned electric generation and transmission body is to sign a deal with Tanzania for the purchase of 400 megawatt of electricity, APA learns here on Wednesday.

A member of the East African Power Pool (EAPP), Tanzania will be Ethiopia’s second biggest client for electricity once the project commences operations in the next five years of the second Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP II) which Ethiopia is set to implement within the period. The largest client, Kenya, has already agreed to import 600MW of electricity.
