Ethiopia: Foreign Currency Reserve Consumes Further

Government evaluated the performance of the 1st GTP, and the prospect of the 2nd GTP in a deliberation.

The deliberation brought together government officials, merchants and some folks from NGOs.

Dr. Arkebe Equbai chaired the deliberation with emphasis on the weakened foreign trade and the failed manufacturing industry.

The fact that the country ponders over a depleted foreign currency reserve was also mentioned.

Dr.Arkebe confirmed, in the 1st GTP that the poor performance in the manufacturing and the foreign trade was due to bureaucratic bottleneck and mediocrity in the executive capacity on the government side.

However, incapability in the private economy also took a fair share of the blame.
