Ethiopia and Algeria want to strengthen their economic cooperation notably in the agricultural, energy and university fields, according to Algeria Press Service (APS).

At the end of his meeting with President Bouteflika, Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn said, "political relations between Ethiopia and Algeria are excellent. Unfortunately, the economic relations did not reach the same level and that is why we want to reinforce them."

"Concerning the economic relations, we encourage Algerian companies to invest in the field of agriculture," he underlined.

He also said the heads of state have discussed air transport, adding that the two countries "agreed to encourage the opening of a direct line between Algiers and Addis Ababa."
