The entire $425million New Year's Day Mega Millions jackpot has been one by a single ticketholder for the first time in a decade.
The winning ticket matching all six numbers - 34, 44, 57, 62, 70 and a gold Mega Ball of 14 - was sold in New York.
It’s the second time the Mega Millions jackpot has been won on New Year’s Day; the only previous January 1 winner was in Texas in 2008.
