Ethiopia has become the eighth largest recipient of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the year 2014 in Africa, according to the new Ernst and Young (EY) attractiveness survey on Africa.
Ethiopia was placed 14th in the year 2013 according to EY’s survey.
The 2015 survey entitled “Making Choices” discloses Ethiopia accounts for 18.5 percent of the FDI Africa attracted. This percent of FDI has been secured due to country’s largest population, 94 million and its affordable workforce.
“Mozambique and Ethiopia were among the star performers attracting growing inflows of projects witnessing an 88.2 percent and 47.1 percent growth, respectively” EY stated in a press release.
Most of the FDI in Africa came from western European Countries.
