A US-Africa Summit is to take place in Washington, D.C. to heighten the relationship between them, said Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Ministry. Ministry spokesperson, Dina Mufti, in his current affairs briefing told journalists that the first in its kind of US-Africa Leaders Summit aims at opening a new chapter between US-Africa relations institutionalizing it.
The Summit is scheduled to be held from 4 to 6 August 2014 in Washington D.C.
It will discuss on ways of boosting relations on trade, investment, peace and security between the Africa continent and the United States.
Including the Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, 50 African leaders will participate on the summit.
In another development the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Forum will also be conducted next to the US-Africa Leaders Summit.
In a different story, a business delegation led by President Mulatu Teshome is participating Ethio-American Business Forum is in progress in the United States.
The Forum aims at strengthening the trade relations between the two countries.
