Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta is to begin a four-day State visit to Ethiopia as of this afternoon. This will be President Kenyatta's first state visit to an African country, and his second in general since he was sworn in to office in April 2013. His first state visit was to China in August last year.
According to an official at the Kenyan Embassy here in Addis Ababa, President Kenyatta will be accompanied by several ministers and leading business people in a bid to boost bilateral relations, including economic and political as well as commercial relations between the two counties.
President Kanyatta is expected to meet Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and President Mulatu Teshome. He is also expected to attend a meeting by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) where South Sudan will be the top agenda.
