The Ethiopia Olympic Committee (EOC) commenced its preparations to host the Association of National Olympic Committee of Africa (ANOCA) general assembly. The assembly is scheduled to be held on December 6, 2020 in Addis Ababa.
The EOC in collaboration with Sport Commission discussed over the coming ANOCA extraordinary general assembly regarding the overall preparations. Furthermore, the EOC said that they are preparing to host the 2022 African youth Games. Lesotho was awarded the 2020 event, in the 2018 general assembly.
The Africa Youth Games targets the 14 to 18 age group and aims to contribute to the development of African sport and growth of Olympic Values. The games feature an education and cultural program to promote the host country and Africa as a whole.
In related news, the EOC told the Ethiopian Olympic team to settle in a hotel and start their regular preparations for the upcoming 2021 Olympic Games. The 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games is set take place from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
